Florence Day 19!
Today was a perfect day for shopping, that's right, shopping! We went out to the San Lorenzo markets for those last minute finds. It is a good thing we went around and looked for the best deals. It is a lot more fun that way. Little knick-knacks that we will take home will remind us of our wonderful 6-week adventure.
While shopping, we took a break in the San Lorenzo Church courtyard. We finished up our shopping and headed straight for our favorite gelato place by Mercato Centrale. The gelateria happens to be next door to an amazing sandwich place...they make your paninis to order...
On the way to our apartment, we stopped off at Conad City Market, our local grocery store for some snacks to take to the movies. Yes, going to the movies on Wednesday night became a weekly event. It has been fun to experience a different part of the Italian culture. We are not bar owls or club kids, we're foodies and art-historian geeks at heart. We love watching movies too, so why not go to the movies in Italy? Tonight's movie was, "Io Vi Trovero," or "I Will Find You." It starred Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, and Femke Jensen. All we will say, is that it was very entertaining and action-packed. Definetely 2 thumbs up!
Surely, we will miss our little haunts that have become part of our little Florentine routine...
