Cannes Day 1!

We took the train in early morning leaving, one of the most beautiful cities we have ever seen. It was somewhat depressing to leave or little apartment in Paris, but we knew that we still have plenty to see. After a 5 hour train ride, passing the beautiful French countryside, we arrived in a very humid, Cannes. We took a 3 minute stroll from the train station to our hotel, literally 3 minutes. We got our room, unloaded a little and went to buy some provisions; milk, soda, chips, cookies, you know, the bare-necessities. We walked around a little, bought a french rugby jersey on sale for 17 euro, where in Paris they started at 50 euro. We had a pretty slow and relaxed time, the slowest since we've set sail on our adventure. We booked the beach for the following day. There is a free beach, but it's reminiscent of Santa Monica, as far as cleanliness goes. Renting a really comfy padded lounge chair and umbrella in front of the famous Carlton Hotel for 8 euro is an awesome deal, plus, you get the security of knowing that your stuff will be there when you return.
